  •  By the way, Im argentinian. We are much whiter (8+ / 0-)

than Cubans, and even we have conflicts with them (no one dislikes them the way Rush described, its just frustrations the rest of us have sometimes). I have cuban friends, but sometimes other hispanics (especially in South Florida) feel resentful because Cubans can be very loyal to their own and a bit dismissive towards other hispanics. Not as much now, but when I was a kid this was the case. My mom had several stories she told me about experiences she had when she and i first came here from argentina. Cubans tend to take care of their own, so sometimes that causes resentment. But this idea that other hispanics dont like them, and that they dont like them because they are "lighter" and work hard is one Rush's most idiotic statements, of many.

Just curious Rush, you consider Cubans hardworking. What do you consider Mexican immigrants many of whom spend hours a day on fields picking crops, or hours in the sun gardening? They aren't "hard working"?

...of the Bay of Pigs.  They blamed them for that fiasco.

So they've been Republican since then.

Hispanics/Latinos from the West (many more than the Cubans) loved JFK and specially RFK who stood by Cesar Chavez.  So they have been Democrats since then.

I came from across the River Plate and I did encounter racism because of my Hispanic origin, regardless of the color of my skin.  And I remember.

Now the Republicans have become the party where all racists have moved to.

So unless you are an older Cuban American, the chances are that as a Hispanic you will support Democrats.
