      professional and personal. I've been through about six of these now, three of them as a financial analyst, and that's usually what happens. The last time we came out of a deepish recession comparoable to this one, within three years tech companies were calling up juniors in college here in Ausitn and begging them to quit and go to work full time like a degreed gaduate. Of course when the shit hit they were the first laid off ..

        As I understand him and Brad DeLong (dimly), without a financial boost from  Congress- like rehiring all those laid off teachers and firefighters- we may be facing a 'lost decade' like Japan. He says that the fiscal meltdown was like the Great Depression, and digging out will be tougher.

        What do you think? With one econ semester, back when Keyneseans walked the Earth, I can parrot this stuff, but not much more.
