  •  Using "lady Americans" is absolutely (0+ / 0-)

meant to be a jokey phrase. Come on.

It'll pass, just as "not so much" did and other overused Internetisms.

Please note, this has zero to do with the actual sentiment expressed - the more progressive women in American politics, the better. I just like fresh language, is all.

    •  "Lady parts" originated less than a year ago. (9+ / 0-)

Interesting how we use and discard language right now. I was just googling it, but didn't find what I wanted - the original instance it was used, which I believe was by one of the ever so Puritan Congressmen?

So, for me, I like the term because it is just so uptight and Victorian. It speaks volumes to all these old white men making all these laws about issues and organs they can't even address with proper terminology.

If you can't say vagina, and you don't have one, you really shouldn't be making life and death decisions about them, should you?

      •  Here's a way to explain what I'm (0+ / 0-)

saying (wait, am I "mansplaining" now??):

During 2008, I almost had to stop coming here because of the coinage "McSame."

It drove me bonkers because it was so clumsy and unfunny.

Didn't mean I liked John McCain whatsoever.
