    the "Romney Shellshocked" linked article:

    Shaw.Gynan says:
Here are my two cents' worth. A lot of liberals have been referring to the world in which the so-called conservatives live as "the bubble". I originally thought that the right wing was intentionally making wildly optimistic projections on a Romney victory based on nothing more than a strategy of raising expectations in the hope that by doing so, they could move the election in their direction. Apparently, I was wrong. The right wing really thought they would win. Remember that famous line, that it was the economy, stupid? It was the economy, and the right wing ended up making this election about social issues. The right wing continues to pursue policies intended to marginalize and discriminate against homosexuals. The right wing was revealed to be consistently in favor of protecting the fetuses of rapists. These two positions were forwarded, ostensibly in the name of Jesus Christ and God. Evangelical Christians, as presented by the GOP, don't care about anything else. You can ask for a more religiously committed pair of groups than the African-American community and the Latinos, and look where they voted in this election! White Evangelical Christians are lamenting this loss. Well, you Evangelicals need to reorder your priorities and stop supporting a party that gives tax breaks to the fabulously wealth while cutting health care, food and housing for the poor, the indigent, the aged, the infirm. Review the Beatitudes of Jesus Christ, the sermon on the mount. Instead of imposing your beliefs on others through the Republican Party, dedicate yourselves to generosity, to charity. I especially feel no sympathy for the smug, holier-than-thou Paul Ryan, who declared rape to be a "method of conception". That it may be, but you so-called conservatives are out of your minds if you think that you can take over the country by forcing rape victims to have the babies of their rapists. What could possibly be "conservative" about supporting rapists?! Every single idiot who espoused that point of view was defeated (Joe Walsh, Troy Akins, Richard Mourdock, etc.), and that's because we who vote against those who espouse the rights of rapists' babies ARE conservative! No matter how much you may think you are on the high moral ground, you are in fact favoring rape. I understand that life conceived in such a way is innocent. I understand that. I get it. But what you don't get is that there is a woman involved, traumatized, violated, and she has a fundamental right to choose. Leave this issue alone and get back to the basics! Stop trying to deny basic rights to homosexuals! You conservatives just come off as a bunch of vicious, bigoted bullies. When you guys got back into office in 2010, what did you do? Try to solve the economic problems! NO! You went right after your pro-life platform, trying to nail down your dictatorial policies before you got thrown out for good. You've ruined the conservative brand by coming off as extremists. And the amazing thing is, to bring this diatribe to a close, is that you really fooled yourself into believing that you represented the body politic. This historic election should have burst your bubble, but I don't think it has, and probably this comment, one of over 4,000 on this page alone, won't make a difference either.

That's one more thing to add to my long list of small problems. --my son, age 10
