    This is an important trend that I think political parties and churches are just beginning to notice.

    Here in my own bible belt state, I personally know dozens of people who have left their churches because they didn't want to spend Sundays listening to a bunch of wingnuttery.  The only ones who didn't leave were the Unitarians and the Jews.

    and then there is my family.  My parents and their sibs and ancestors identified strongly with a church. Of my generation of 6 sibs, all 50-somethings, half of us go to church, half do not. One of us is about to leave her church. So that will be 4 out of 6 no longer attending church.  

    Of the next generation, out of 25, only 6 of those over 18 are church goers.

    We dont want to hear intolerance from the pulpits. And we cannot feel a sense of community with those who go around parroting Rush Limbaugh.
