...we still wound up with Pat McCrony as governor, three fewer seats in the House, two fewer seats in the state House kept Paul Stam and Thom Tillis employed, and at this point there's still a better than even chance we'll get Forest Gump in the Lt Gov seat.

Don't get me wrong, nobody's happier than I am to see Barack Obama get a contract extension.  But my excitement is diluted by the terrifying reality in Raleigh that we have a GOP-dominated legislature (that expanded its majority this cycle) partnered with a Scott Walker wannabe who just named ART POPE as an adviser.  My reflex is that 2014 can't get here soon enough, but at the same time the thought of that is worrying since the maps aren't going to change and the only attention we're likely to get from the national level is Kay Hagan's re-election bid.

I'll believe corporations are people when one comes home from Afghanistan in a body bag.

At least your residents are hearing alternative viewpoints and the pollsters look at the state now and then.

Try looking at KS, the home of the Koch Brothers and the anti-immigrant drive and abortion-doctor murdering, getting redder not bluer, and worse and worse for the people in it.  "My" rep didn't even have a Dem opponent so I could actually vote for someone else.  We're doubtless years away from much improvement.  We so miss Sibelius!

How I wish the Dems had pursued the Dean 50-state effort; it's lousy being totally ignored and unsupported.  We try internally....
