    negatively impacted the vote totals of three very Dem states, two of which are very populous. I believe it's about 9% of the country's population is in NY; NJ and CT (if I remember correctly). And the biggest percentage drops from 2008 to 2012 in the country, occurred in those three states.  

    So yes, overall votes will be down for Obama, but when all the votes are tallied they will be higher than they are now. And there was a hurricane that had a negative effect on voting as a whole, but especially in adding to Dem vote total.

    So it's not as dire an "enthusiasm" gap when those two facts are taken into account, as some pundits are trying to spin it as.

      It is not dire, as President Obama won. But there was an undeniable drop from 2008, not all of which is accounted for by the hurricane.
