    is valid and important. However the idea of mind scans to establish eligibility borders on fascism-like ideas of mental control. Our movement (well Obama's) is supposed to rely on respect and empowerment. Relying on brain scans to decide about a persons fate negates that person as a person - this is about as opposite from respect and empowerment as one can go.

    Also the hypothesis that religiosity is a mental disease is in discussion, but obviously not generally accepted. It would be a rather widespread mental disease, in any case:-) And evolutionary theory tells you that it can be quite hard to distinguish disease from benefit, there are no hard borders between them. Something can start out as infection (retroviruses) and later be co-opted to enhance evolution (transposons).
