I donated to the Romney campaign. Not much, but it was what a could afford. I think it came out to about $300. That’s grocery money to feed my family. That’s gas money to get my kids to school and for me to get to work. And this is how it was spent? To line the pockets of wealthy charlatans? Words can’t describe how angry this makes me. And this “good man” allowed this to go on right under his nose. Mitt Romney owes me and a lot of other Americans a huge apology.

I, too, think that $300 is a fair amount of money that could have been spent on food, gas, etc. I would bet a lot of that money that WarEagle01 doesn't contribute ever again. I think that WarEagle01 just figured out what it means to be treated like the 47%.

The comments are hard to slog thru but slog I did. There is a lot of anger out there that their money was misspent. There's a lot of resentment towards highly paid consultants who couldn't deliver.

I read somewhere today that Obama's small dollar donors were 44% of his donation base and Romney's was 27%. I would be surprised if the next Republican nominee gets many small donors. And, the problem with that is if you care enough to give money to a campaign you are more likely to go out and vote for that candidate.

We as Democrats owe a lot to Gov. Howard Dean and his small donor model. It set the stage for what we saw last Tuesday.

    •  What I take from all this is that there's (9+ / 0-)

an opportunity to reach out on a person-to-person level to some of these disaffected people in their current "dark says". That's not to say we should debate their politics; just to acknowledge their pain, as we've all been let down at some point ourselves with election results.

Those who do not understand history are condemned to repeat it... in summer school.

That Mitt cut off his staffer's credit cards right after conseding?  All those from out of town had to now pay all expenses out of pocket to get home.
      That says a lot.
There had to be a ton of money left in the chest.
      Wow, gratitude.
More of Mitts take the money and run.
      Common Dreams has the story.
      Such a charming man.
I would never have given my food, rent, gas money to a millionaire.
I actually feel bad for those that did.

If the Fetus you Saved was GAY, would you still fight for its RIGHT'S?
