  •  Now if only that could translate into a long-term (16+ / 0-)

situation -- if only the true-believer coalitionizing old white folks who seem to run the FL Dem Party apparatus could learn a new trick, like actually using electoral power to effectuate General Welfare-based policies and programs. If only there was a way to undo the latest Gerrymapping of legislative districts, and empty the Red shit out of the Statehouse and Governor's actual Residence (bearing in mind that goodol'boyism and taking care of cronies and contributors is here, like toenail fungus, to stay, and stay, and stay...).

Thank you for your effort in putting this diary together. Maybe it will inspire the insipid to do the unthinkable and nominate some people who actually WANT the high offices, and are ready to use them to benefit that thing called "the rest of us."

    •  That's going to be the problem (0+ / 0-)

I don't see anyone in the Florida leadership being able to capitalize on this Cuban-American swing.

Oh, hell. I don't see anyone in the Florida Democratic leadership being able to, you know, lead.

      Hopefully I'm wrong.
