telling me she did nothing to orchestrate, coordinate or help manufacture this result for any of the Democrats in question?

People, not corporations. Democracy, not totalitarian capitalism.

of appointing women (and men, too) who they know will follow orders and serve as figureheads.  Kathleen Sebelius is a good example - empty suit, who only does what the president's favorite lobbyists wish.

I'm guessing that's the role Murray played.  I'll say I live in a state where my senator had the most contested, most contentious most expensive senate races in history.

He did a helluva job running his own race, raising his own money.  Never once in the past 2 years did we hear anything from Murray.  She didn't come here, she didn't issue statements to the media, she didn't sponsor fundraisers.

Again, I'm sure she's a nice person who did a few things, but my impression of her was as a "yes-woman" a figurehead who was there to allow others to manage campaigns.

That's very nice, but its not enough to make her Reid's replacement and, apparently, is very problematic when putting her out as a spokesperson for Dem public policy.

Please stand by. I'm looking for a new sig line.

Because you and your senator didn't get visible assistance from Murray, she's just a figurehead who didn't do anything for anyone else.

Out of curiosity, may I ask the name of this senator of yours?

Somebody has to do something, and it's just incredibly pathetic that it has to be us.

She was not out on the stump. But she was the one helping line up support behind the best candidates and is also one of the key figures that cleared the way for Angus King to create a clear pickup for us in Maine rather than running a stronger D and handing the seat to R's. So, clearly Patty had a big influence on at least 1 of our two pickup seats.  But I am certain she had a hand in many other backroom negotiations.

Senators can be the showhorses or workhorses, and Patty has always had the reputation as a workhorse.  If you don't see her much, that probably means she is doing her job well.
