you think are crucial to our fiscal health?  More weapons systems we pay for but never get?  More subsidies for oil, gas, coal, and corporate farms?  Should we keep the overlapping agencies that make government less efficient?

Obama's proven himself already in how he handled Medicare.  He scared the crap out of people on the left who are convinced that every President is somehow evil and then did what the rest of us knew he'd do - strengthened the program, cut a lot of waste, and prosecuted the shit out of long time fraudsters.

Please don't tell me you think there's no waste in this government.  Republicans have been using it to line their pockets for decades.  Some sensible cuts to selected programs and agencies would free up a lot of money for
OSHA, the PCA, the FDA, all agencies that are starving right now and unable to do the job we rely on them to do.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.

    •  If you look at what the "Grand Bargain" (0+ / 0-)

had in store for Medicare and SS I'm not sure the President is the great defender of the social programs that you think he is.

These next few months scare me with what he may be willing to negotiate away to get Republicans approval.   We'll see how this plays out.
