    I agree we should raise our voice, but I don't think we should attack our own when they haven't sold us down the river. Not that we can't correct them when they fail to talk in realistic terms about the debt.

    There is one level on which I think they're stalling until the economy improves and the deficit starts receding of its own accord.
    I think they'll wind up with the basic prescription of short term spending on our immediate needs and long term solutions to debt. We win the battle on fiscal responsibility and then we have the political confidence of the people to solve our problems.
    There was a reason the gop was desperate to beat Obama. They knew if he got a second term, he would also get to preside over a recovering economy that is advancing into the 21st century with clean energy, new infrastructure, etc.
    Likewise there's that urgency now with the "debt". They can make the numbers about the debt look scary. If we have 4 more years of recovery, the debt and deficit are going to look a lot less scary, and their opportunity to get rid of SS and Medicare, etc. will be permanently gone.

    You can't make this stuff up.
