  •  Today I actually begin to feel human. (12+ / 0-)

Don't want to push it, though; I had forgotten quite how nasty a full fibro flare was, and don't want to go back to it any time soon.

Getting the laundry done so I can put on clean clothes would be nice.

Otherwise, I am listening to one of the cats moving round in the kitchen (hopefully there will soon be a flurry of activity ending in her coming in triumphantly with a furry grey rodent corpse) and reading a lovely cozy murder mystery from Project Gutenberg. I like those. Real life is so full of things that go wrong and don't work out neatly that it's a nice mental vacation to read something where the violence is circumscribed and not shown in detail, the murderer is always someone unlikeable, and the young lovers always end the book with a marriage proposal and a kiss.

When you come to find how essential the comfort of a well-kept home is to the bodily strength and good conditions, to a sound mind and spirit, and useful days, you will reverence the good housekeeper as I do above artist or poet, beauty or genius.
