  •  I wouldn't call it empathy (4+ / 0-)

    that I'm feeling when I see it.  But it isn't something to celebrate and whoop about either.

    It's about like those folks who wanted to whomp and cheer when we first attacked Afghanistan, or when Bin Laden was killed, or even Hussain executed.

    We are watching people dealing with an end to white privilege as the dominant form of both consciousness and unspoken power in their world.  I'm not sorry to see it go, Just like I wasn't sorry to see Nazi Germany fall (in newsreels), but I can understand that it is an entire way of life for them.  And I can be said that it had to come to what it came to in order to defeat it.  Also sadly pathetic that some people don't know how to operate outside of it.

    I've never been one to rub my victories in other people's faces (unless its a UNC victory over Duke).  And so, I can see the forces they are grappling with.
