    One thing this election showed us is  that the serious pollsters and political scientist were pretty much right. Back in April of 2012 Ezra Klein linked to a election calculator with input  from three political scientists.

    The idea was that looking at the economy and the presidents approval ratings in the summer before an election can predict an election most of the time (now 13 of the last 17).  Move the slicers around all you want, but  it is hard to find a spot were Obama losses.

    The point is, the demise of the Republican party is grossly exaggerated. There failure was believing their on propaganda. We have to guard against the same thing. We  hear all this talk of how bad the Republicans did in the election, and they really did blow the senate races, but the outcome of the presidential election was right where you could have predicted in June.

    Get back to work. Recruit top tier candidates. Register new voters. And follow through with our promises.
