    ... mayor who accepted illegal campaign contributions and has his own ethics issues?

    The charges of domestic abuse was a red herring from the beginning; especially when the current DA in his capacity as head of the SFPD refused to punish his troops of actual go to the hospital domestic abuse; or the sfpd breaking a woman's leg in North Beach, all caught on camera; no charges leveled against the cops.

    They hate Ross because he is a true Progressive; and the domestic abuse lobby are useful dupes for a corrupt city police force that has always been at odds with the Sheriff's Office.

    That's a primer in SF Politics that is not so readily addressed.
