  •  I posted a link to your diary (7+ / 0-)

on the National Mill Dog Rescue's Facebook page.  Have you tried to contact them?  My sister recently adopted a lovely miniature Schnauzer from them.

will try.  I have been away from home and just got back.  The person who sends out rescue emails is legit locally and will send out messages about those who are not.  Regularly, dogs are saved from horrific conditions.  My town's animal control department is awful--was using the chambers which take as much as 30 minutes to put animals down instead of the more humane shots.  This group of rescuers petitioned and showed up at city council meetings until finally the method of putting animals to sleep was changed.

I hesitated to post here and wondered if I should include the contact information in the diary, but these people have been legit and being so far away (I am in Texas) I thought maybe someone on a national board would have contacts there and this is a group of people who love animals and that I trust.
