more engaged.  We want to vote; we want to make sure the elections are clean.  We don't take democracy for granted - which in a way is a good thing.

    •  Yes to the above. "We need to fix this." (0+ / 0-)

It starts with fixing long lines and the mechanics of voting in order to make every vote cast count and to enfranchise every citizen who is willing to cast a ballot.

More difficult is standardizing how and when people can vote so there is a more uniform process for all states.  Some Secretary of States have become hyper partisan. This should be condemned. Every citizen should be able to vote early, by mail or in person in a method that is convenient to them.

Elections will always be a struggle between different interests.  Educating the electorate is an important responsibility and is a necessary safeguard against rampant capitalists and others who peddle deception.  I am proud of the role Daily Kosians play in defending our Democracy, damned proud in fact!  There are solutions to the issues that the diarist brings up.  We should champion this fight.

I play for keeps. Kindness, Equality, Enlightenment, Peace, and Sustainability.
