    Then, after Cantor contacted Meuller, the FBI was forced to let Obama know, even though they'd determined that there was no national security threat (whether that was actually the case is another question altogether) and this was a personal matter that involved a civilian CIA director.  Obama was himself forced to confront Petraeus because of the jeopardy this affair put the nation's top spymaster into, and then either asked for his resignation or Petraeus offered it unbidden.

    But Cantor, having let the cat out of the bag (because he bought into the RW agent's fevered CT, hoping that Obama would be wounded - before finding out that it was all just a nasty sex scandal involving his party's best '16 candidate) was now in the position of having exposed Petraeus.  And the RW noise machine immediately goes into overdrive trying to figure out a way to turn this into an Obama-conspiracy instead of a GOP sleaze-fest, which it, in reality, is.
