  •  I still think money talks, and the capitalists (8+ / 0-)

have far more money than the Teabaggers or Entertainers. The Teabaggers and Entertainers officially wore out their welcome last Tuesday, so I look for the capitalists to start pulling the party back toward the middle. They NEED more voters, they NEED federal subsidies, they NEED federally funded infrastructure upgrades, and those needs require a shift away from the batshit crazy wing of the party.

voters. Immigration is already a done deal; all that's left is the fine print, and that will clear the way for more Latinos to align with the GOP.

At minimum, to counter a GOP movement to the center, we need to fully embrace nano- to small-biz people earning less than $500k or perhaps $1M, make sure we keep them out of GOP hands (this will require addressing the patent-hoarding industry that is destroying the vitality of high-tech startups); double down on advocacy of women's/family, veterans', union, 99%, and LGBT issues; fight corporate personhood and Citizens United; stay the hell away from federally imposed gun control at all costs; press for the end of the War on Marijuana; and recommit to the Dean 50-state strategy.
