...over the last decade here in the northwest (with, granted, three years or so on my part off in the bay area) is the idea that if your ID says "F", then you use the women's facilities, if it says "M" you use the men's, and people may twitch, but they cope.  I have yet to be in a liberal cis group around here that freaks on that too badly, though I'm sure it is possible.

TESC is probably going to argue self-identification.  They will win or lose on that.  I suspect they will win, since it is their facility, and signs will go up, and so on and so forth.  And indeed, that is in keeping with the rhetoric of much of our movement.    I guess that is interesting, albeit not my own preference per civil rights progress, and all to the good.

What really bothers me is that this chica has become a football.  Or, given TESC, a frisbee.  All these articles about how it is right or wrong.  But honestly...there is not much real campus support for her, I can testify to that very directly.  I hope she gets to finish her degree.  I hope people reach out to her.

My own thoughts are influenced by the fact that there were privacy screens that any viewers could have used so they didn't have to see anything.

It puts me in mind when, early in my transition, there were complaints about me going braless.  Why the hell were they looking?
