    The US returns to a common paper ballot system?

    Now, I realize that there are any number of offices to fill and ballot initiatives and referenda, compared to the single vote in parliamentary style elections, but I still don't get why Canada can hold an election and have all results open and certified (with a paper trail) in hours, while there are states in the US (Arizona) that have yet to even finish counting more than a week after the election...

      can't do anything...then they (the unskilled, unqualified, government haters) get themselves positions in government in order to prove it.

      that's always puzzled me too.

      At the very least the ballot formats and voting methods should be standardized across the country - as well as the nature of the kind of referenda that goes along with voting for one's representatives.

      The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy... the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
