  •  Show me anywhere that Barack Obama (10+ / 0-)

has ever said SS and Medicare are off the table and that he will not adjust them or have any savings from them.  He has been very clear that he believes adjustments and changes can and must be made without adversely affecting recipients.  I am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt and I can already tell there is going to be a lot of pearl-clutching every time the subject is raised.  Get used to it:  there will be changes.  Changes are not the same thing as cuts.

    Still enjoying my stimulus package.

I don't think we need benefits to be reduced or ages to be raised, though.

AND, social security does NOT affect the deficit.  There is no need to discuss it in this discussion at all.

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. Barack Obama

SS is good thru 2090.  But then you've never even looked at a SS Trustees report have you?

Lets make it an even 25 million jobs, shall we?

Lets make wage growth equal to inflation......

And then when the Boomers are all dead by 2062, assets climb after 2062.....

Of course removing the cap would create a super massive benefits check, something crazy like 10-12-14k a month.

And then capping benefits would be a means test, and presto the GOP wet dream...... a welfare program........

FDR 9-23-33, "If we cannot do this one way, we will do it another way. But do it we will.

What about the tens of millions who are not yet "recipeints?"  50 yos, 45 yos?

These folks have been paying premiums for 25-30 plus years.  Same age as Obama but without his $250k for life pension.
