       Ear splitting!  You have to walk right by the racket because they are in doorways.

        The other waiters at the restaurant I worked at would hide the Christmas CD in the fish tank, break it, or run off with it at some point in the season.

        You can only sing so many parodies of the songs before you start to feel more than a little crazy.

        getting OSHA involved. There are regulations for noise limits and providing hearing protection. If workers are going home with ringing in their ears or other temporary hearing loss, then they are probably violating regulations unless they provide hearing protection.

        Also maybe some issues with ADA. I have a friend who is blind and so relies more on his hearing than most. Boy does he hate the bell ringing. I carry around ear plugs this time of year to get in and out of stores. He wouldn't dare use ear plugs though. It would put him at risk for getting hit by a car or something.
