ill. What a challenge for all of you now.

I hope that you have found some support in writing here today, especially given all the compassionate responses you've received. There are a lot of people here who can speak to you from their own direct experiences, and perhaps that will help you through this. All the same, it is a painful process. My thoughts are with you and your family.

If you do have the chance to check out the Monday Night Cancer Club (MNCC) and decide you'd like to join the group, please send ZenTrainer or me a Kosmail and one of us will sign you up. Gradually we are assembling quite a repository of shared wisdom and kindness there, and you might find it useful to you now (or later).

Good luck with your holiday plans. Is there any prospect that your step-sibs could also join you, so that there would be the additional incentive for your dad and step-mom? Or would that be too many people all in one place?
I hope that you are able to persuade him to be with you, even if you are all mindful that this may indeed be your last holiday season together.

I'm seeking to organize DKos members in SE Michigan--roughly, from the Ohio line at Lake Erie NE to Port Huron, W to Flint and back S from there. If you'd like to join our new group, Motor City Kossacks (working title), please Kosmail me.
