  •  Health Care is SCIENCE. (7+ / 0-)

    Religion is SUPERSTITION.

The two do NOT go together.

There should BE no Catholic Hospitals; Lutheran Hospitals; Christian Hospitals; Jewish Hospitals; Hindu, Buddhist or Muslim Hospitals...

    This is WRONG.

We are the change we have been waiting for.

    •  Jewish fetus must NOT "pursue life of mother." (4+ / 0-)

      Exact opposite of Catholic dogma.

Jewish dogma requires protecting the mom.
Fetus is not a person until taking first breath.  Even if her health problem is mental health.

PS --- Jewish kosher food laws from biblical times ---- pretty much guarantee you a sanitary meal if you need to find a restaurant in a strange town.

Seventh Day Adventists follow same kosher food & sabbath laws from bible -- don't know on abortion?

Oh, many centuries ago Jews stopped trying to get converts.

...to my knowledge, at least.  And even if we did, we certainly would put saving a woman's life over that of her fetus in a life-threatening situation.

I think the issue here is religious bias against specific procedures because the Catholic Church sees fit to force non-Catholics into their dogma.  There are many lay Catholics who would take offense at the idea that the Vatican has a right to interfere with their personal lives.

I say we stop sending Medicare/Medicaid dollars until they stop putting dogma in the way of providing medical treatment for conditions that are completely preventable.
