  •  I think it's funny, but I understand (0+ / 0-)

much of the donutty dudgeon. The diarist hasn't commented much, but I don't think s/he is a troll, fwtw.

Or might as well be for the damage to this site.

Cats are better than therapy, and I'm a therapist.

      •  Fwiw, I guess I'm just not seeing the damage (0+ / 0-)

from one diary that I judge playful if ill-considered. Plenty of folks here screw up at least once in a big way, including long-established and serious contributors. I've read this diarist's handful of diaries, and her/his comments to others' diaries, they seem appropriate enough to the tone of the particular diary and associated comments, and my take is s/he's a computerish person with a taste for biting humor (which I myself appreciate).

Although I agree we shouldn't troll the petition site even in jest, I continue to think we're not so large in the public eye that we risk indelibly staining our brand with a careless diary that in no way seriously espouses violence. Markos himself certainly has visibility, but otherwise I see little evidence that most of the world, online or off, knows the rest of us exist. And while I'm inordinately proud of our Orange-to-Blue fundraising, and my modest part in it, approx 103k of us raised approx $3.2 million, an average donation of $31 -- we're not yet the stuff of which Major Players are forged. ;D

As for the diarist, only time and the quality of her/his continuing participation will tell IMO.
