and now practice Buddhism.  I have progressively moved this way since the massacres of the prison camps in Lebanon in the early 80s.  Since my husband's death I have not stepped foot in a synagogue.  My husband in his lifetime gave over a quarter of a million to Israel but nothing since 1985.

of Israel is a very bad thing.  Some would even call it antisemitic.

        1. I'm Jewish

        2. She's Jewish

        3. Neither of us is anti-semitic

        4. Neither of us likes that there continues to be conflict between the two sides.

if the most prominent practitioners of ones religion, continue to act in a way one finds morally problematic, and in that religion's holiest book, one finds stories that indicate g-d commanded his followers to slaughter men, women, and children, from the lands he blessed his people to conquer, then the continued practice of ones religion is most certainly a legitimate moral question.

To be a Jew, and not see some similarity between the Walls, is to be a Jew in name only.  Our moral seriousness is one of our defining characteristic.

Look, there are no easy answers here.  No saints, lots of sinners.  But the occupation has always been, while understandable, a mistake, even to those generals who took the land in the first place.

Most importantly, it has dulled the moral sensibilities of both sides children, who are less interested in peace, than their parents generation.  A tragedy beyond measure.

      have to do with this?

      I find that personally offensive.

A few things you might consider:

      1. Israel is predominantly secular
      2. The founding of Israel (and the entire Zionist movement--was secular, not religious.  Many of the most religious Jews were completely opposed to the political entity of 'Israel'.
      3. Most Jews in this country (and around the world) don't support Netanyahu.  The Israel cause is low on the list for Jewish voters here.

      4. The Wall of Warsaw was a tool to funnel people into gas chambers and eliminate them from the planet.  The Wall of Gaza as you call it, while awful, is the product of exceedingly bad political policies in the grossly-overstated name of 'security'.

Your analogies are nonsense.  I respect your decision to choose your own religion--that's fine--but don't blame it on Judaism.

Yes, yes, it's all the same.  After all, Israel is planning on liquidating the Gaza Ghetto, right?
