    Had a young friend who worked full-time at Papa John's, and he never had insurance, and suffered a life-threatening (sudden) attack at work. A week later, he was alive, but very much in debt. Papa John's acted all benevolent and didn't fire him for having been sick... didn't pay him sick pay either. And there wasn't the slightest notion that maybe employees should get benefits. Why? That wouldn't be "cost-effective".

    That Papa John's owner is a disgrace. I'm boycotting their pizza. He can blather all he wants about costs. Truth is, his own employees don't matter as much as cheese to him. They're just another product. He doesn't deserve to be employer.
