    internet voting.  Just like some people have smart cards to pay for the bus or train, it still remains possible to pay the old, slow way as well.

    In fact, I wonder why places like Oregon don't allow a hybrid of this yet.  You could vote your ballot on the internet, print it, and then sign/mail it in.  That way, Oregon could get a provisional count almost instantaneously on election night and then formally settle the paperwork as the snail mail rolls in.
