Carbon taxes are one thing, but making companies pay for the damage they cause  -- especially the damage they cause to the "little guys" and their livelihoods and their property?

    Big Huzzah to the administration.

The BPs of the world need to know that they cannot just come in and ravage the country with impunity as if we are a colony to be plundered.  If we really believe the US to be a great nation, then we need to act as if its greatness is something worth preserving.

...Nigeria, Ecuador, etc. But too often the attitude here is that such places don't count. That their corporate colonial status is the proper order. Look how some Congresspeople treated the pursuers of Chevron in the massive pollution it caused in Ecuador. Another example of U.S. exceptionalism. On the ame order of its being okay for the U.S. to interfere in various ways with other countries' elections, but if another country tries that here, off with their heads.

Don't tell me what you believe, show me what you do and I will tell you what you believe.
