    Those reds are so good, as compared against, say, Bristol Bay sockeye, or fish from Southeast Alaska or Canada, because the Copper River fish have to swim a long long long way to get up to the spawning creeks.

    Therefore, they have a considerably higher fat content than other red salmon. More fat, more flavor.
