  •  I spent three weeks (6+ / 0-)

riding my bike in Eastern Oregon this summer.

I saw many mountains, trees, rivers, orchards. I saw deserts. Eastern Oregon and the Cascades are wonderful, glorious, fantastic. But one thing conspicuously lacking was people.

    •  Hi, Card, where'd you go? (0+ / 0-)

You have exactly 10 seconds to change that look of disgusting pity into one of enormous respect!

I actually rode all the way from Tecate to Canada, through the Sierra and the Cascades, but the part in Oregon was about three weeks or so. Maybe less; I'd have to look it up.

I went to Ashland, Crater Lake, Chemult, Sisters, Bend, Idanha, Detroit, past Mt Hood to Hood River. The best campsite of the whole two month trip was at Timothy Lake, somewhere in Oregon.

        •  That's a wonderful part of Oregon, right down the (0+ / 0-)

spine of the state.  And part of a great bike ride, I should have done the same when I had the chance.
