are convinced that Petraeus will "throw Obama under the bus" and testify today that he knew almost immediately that this was a terrorist attack and therefore isn't sure where Rice received her talking points.    This is quite odd however considering that just yesterday, Petraeus' second in command, Mike Morell, stated that "Rice was provided with an unclassified version of events at the U.S. mission in Benghazi that left American Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others dead, according to Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., a member of the panel."

They are really counting on their guy to take the Obama admin down.  I can't imagine how the first and second in command at the CIA could have such divergent accounts.   I'm so sick of this sideshow!   What is it about Republicans?   What can't they just get to work?   The hypocrisy is beyond belief considering WMDs, etc.

Obama referred to it loosely as a terrorist attack the very next day and more explicitly as a terrorist attack the day after that.

That it was the CIA giving Rice the info to use for the Sunday shows a week later tells me they didn't want their activities in the area exposed quite so willy-nilly. The accidental (?) exposure of them in the Republicans' pre-election dog-and-pony show only supports this notion.

Obama seems to be in a sort of "well, if you must know...come to this classified hearing" mode of talking about this. GOP pressure on him to have been more explicit and forthcoming about the situation in Benghazi seems to be in conflict with a cautious, deflecting approach being taken by the CIA.

When you're the one that knows all the facts, and you see your enemies about to discredit themselves... "Please proceed, Senator."
