If I decide not to eat at a certain restaurant, I'm still going to eat; by boycotting, I'm not taking money out of the economy. Some other restaurant will benefit: if restaurant X loses business, restaurant Y gains. Thus if restaurant X closes, restaurant Y will hire more to meet the increased demand, or someone will open a new restaurant.

Right now, there are people who think they can "Go Galt" and extort us. But we really do have the power. We can take our money elsewhere. We can reward businesses that have values matching our own. If a CEO is so stubborn to drive a business to bankruptcy rather than meet the demands of the market, someone else will step in to fill the void left behind.
