The earlier comment, taken strictly at face value, as well as many others here, seem to be separating the jobs issue from the healthy foods issue.

Our general problem is that there are no easy categories and it is all a big Catch 22.

I lived on the Navajo Nation for a while and noticed that many people in the check out line has baskets full of Cheetos and Spam and off-brand soft drinks, as well as Spam and the sort of cheese that the US government subsidizes.

Essentially, people who are eating as cheaply as possible were selecting from a menu of foods that were routed out to the reservation because people in the cities are not buying it.

I agree that the choices one might have if one is in one of those positions in which you don't even have a kitchen, are a problem.

But that problem will not be solved by buying up Twinkies because they are going out of business, or making a joke out of it when other people might decide to follow that example.

Are we being forced to choose between jobs and health?  Is that what the Mitt Romneys of the world think is a good way to generate profits from invested dollars?

I don't like the manipulation in this.  It is costing more in food, it is sending us into the health care system which is costing more, and we are all going around and around trying to figure out where to go to stop the merry go round.

hope that the idiots who have no constructive and creative solutions but only look to tear down will not win the day.
