  •  This is just septic water that flows downhill (12+ / 0-)

though the ground from the lines, I am assuming, and out through the hillside about 30 feet from my front door. Everyone has to either walk through it or drive through it and almost no one knew what it was until I told them last winter.

It stops in the summer. He built an apartment onto his house (one renter) and has two tanks in the front, and neither the building OR the one tank was permitted. It's WAY past time I did something, I have been very, very patient thinking they would take care of it.

I can't smell anything, to tell you the truth, but I AM worried about the health issues. The effluent can carry every nasty disease one can name, as you know. I can't even walk my dogs on my own street.

Reminds me a bit of someone telling me about their neighbors who moved to the country from the city and didn't get the limits of well water. So they just used water without thinking about how much they used, and their well was just a little deeper than their neighbors' wells. They'd use up all the water and then wander around the neighborhood complaining about how there was no water, and all the neighbors were like "yeah, we know. we run out before you..."
