I'm not sure that McCain's behavior in this situation is related to PTSD.  A person may act erratically or have a hard time modulating emotions when exposed to some sort of trigger that causes intrusive memories or a flashback or some other reaction.  It's hard to see how this hearing would have done that.  McCain may be excessively emotional when he thinks about the Benghazi attack because he remembers being beaten himself; this, however, doesn't explain or rationalize the fact that he's politicized something that shouldn't have been politicized.  It doesn't explain the conspiracy theory grandstanding and manufacturing of a fake crisis for political advantage.

Maybe McCain's difficulty modulating when discussing the beating death of a diplomat is related to his experience of torture.  But his desire to head a select committee to go after the President is nothing but partisan hackery.

The best and soundest of his time hath been but rash. Then must we look from his age to receive not alone the imperfections of long-engrafted condition, but therewithal the unruly waywardness that infirm and choleric years bring with them.

The power of the Occupy movement is that it ....realizes a fundamental truth about American politics… there is no way to vote against the interests of Goldman Sachs.
