  •  That's kind of misleading (0+ / 0-)

If gas went to $50/gallon, the impact would hit all businesses equally, so by your logic everything would be fine.

But it wouldn't be fine: most businesses would be crushed out of existence despite the 'equal' impact of the high prices.

Just because it sucks for all businesses equally doesn't mean it doesn't suck. (Not making any specific claim about ObamaCare, just pointing out broken logic).

This turns out not to be the case. If gas went to $50 a gallon, you wouldn't believe how fast we would build out wind and solar power and buy all-electric cars.

The point that an insurance mandate affects all businesses at a certain level equally is true regardless of what fantasy strawmen you can throw up.

      America—We built that!

No we wouldn't. The industrial capacity to do such things wouldn't exist. You need gas and a lot of it to build wind and solar, and there is no such thing as a viable electric car (let alone a truck or an airplane).

I didn't say 'do you think', which would have been.  Rather, I just thought it needed to be added to your correct comment about how diffciult quick transition would be, meaning we better get started now.

And, a bit too dismissive of electtric car tech imo.  We have fine electric cars.  Its the batteries that need work. :)
