will take some time, depending on where you look.

Two years: Congress gets elected every 2 years, and we made gains in 2012. I'm hoping for good news in 2014, but it's an off-year. If the Democratic candidate in 2016 wins and has good coattails, we could recapture the House.

Six years: The Senators elected in 2010 are up for reelection in 2016, which is a Presidential year, so turnout will be higher. The Class 3 Senators elected in 2010 include a whopping 24 Republicans and only 10 Democrats. We should be able to pick off several of those seats.

Ten years: The state legislatures elected in 2010 redrew the voting districts based on the 2010 Census. Let's hope we elect more Democratic legislatures in 2020.

But we have demographics on our side: African-Americans, Latinos, women, LGBT voters, and young people prefer the Democratic party. Our side is growing larger. Theirs is shrinking.

And if the Republicans keep saying crazy things about rape, they have no chance.

But the angle said to them, "Do not be Alfred. A sailor has been born to you"
