    Human trafficking is an immense hydra of evil that thrives in a world where humans are no more than commodities. I am engaged in this work from the domestic perspective of labor and sex trafficking in rural Wisconsin. It happens in our very backyards, and depends upon apathy and the urge to keep secrets and "mind your own business." The human toll may never be truly known. It remains a severely under reported, legally fuzzy, invisible crime.

    Ending trafficking begins with respect for the humanity of others.

    Almost 10 year old Daughter: "Boys are pretty good, but daughters have sentimental value." Me: "I don't think that phrase means what you think it does." Daughter: "None of them do, Mom. More's the pity. Words have to be flexible in today's world."
