on our Military Procurements... and why the Defense Contractors are so eager to donate to re-elect Republicans, because they need those military contracts to continue to get enormously wealthy by charging dog only knows how much more than anything actually costs, for everything, right down to a couple of screws.

There has got to be a better way to buy shit for the Defense Department.

Like, perhaps, they might consider buying some industrial land, opening up Military Service categories like "hardware small tool construction", and building a few factories to produce the materials needed to build our boats and ships and planes.

So we don't have engorged contractors getting wealthy just making screws and bolts and metal hinges. So that our military transportation vehicles are all made and maintained by materials created under the auspices of the US Military from the get go. So that no foreign supplier can or ever could hold our military hostage to continue buying shit they no longer want or need.

It would employ a lot of materials labor-intensive job skills which are still necessary in this country, but are more and more being shipped to overseas locations. We might be very damned sorry about that some day in the not so distant future.
