But he isn't and doesn't have the insight to realize that he is not real. He recognzies some stuff, that he had compromised himself when he got involved in shopping center development with Charlie Keating or asked Duke Tully to be godfather for oen of his children (and vice versa). I'm sure he thought he solved his personal issue by advocating for campaign finance reform, such as he solved personal issues by "forgiving" the North Vietnamese for holding him prisoner and provind himself not a big by on the surface standing up to a woman (not that it is a woman; I don't see him going up against Trump on this, do you?) who believes something that frankly under the surface he encourages. But he thinks his flaws stem from the outside and not the inside. He had his sense of entitlement before Tully and Keating and birtherism and 9/11 and phantom WMDs and even the Tonkin Gulf rez. He is not along in this, but we are stuck with him because of the curiously idiotic back story to his public life.

Have you heard? The vice president's gone mad. - Bob Dylan, 1966
