    I remember back in the late 60s/early 70s, when people were insisting on all of us being simply human beings, that I had some feelings as a woman, and that, as for men, I could in no way imagine going through life carrying my genitals outside my body.  There would be so much need to protect.

    But that is different from becoming obsessed with it.

      ...have made tons of money on jockstraps and cups, because us men learn early that exposed genitals and sports don't mix.

      I realize that men and women (on the average!) have differences, but not in raw intelligence or ability to apply it to a work or social situation - there, you have to break it down to the individual level.

      I would rather watch a ballgame with the average Starter-jacket-wearing female Steelers fan than a Portlandia male who complains about competition being bad.

      9-11 changed everything? Well, Katrina changed it back.
