  •  This is nonsensical (11+ / 0-)

"Western medicine" is nothing more or less than the application of scientific principles-- how we understand what is and isn't so, what we can and cannot know-- to the art of healing. It is imperfect, as is our knowledge. Certainly its application can be very imperfect. But you cannot consistently say you "trust science" but not medicine-- and talk about the nonscience of homeopathy as a logical substitute. You are contradicting yourself.

You are also completely wrong when you claim that "western medicine never heals the human body or the human mind." That happens every day, multiple times a day. I saw someone three days ago who had a blood clot physically pulled out of his left middle cerebral artery by "western medicine". A reliance on homeopathy would have left him paralyzed and unable to speak.

Go spew your worthless ignorance elsewhere.

recontext, mudfud27 call it "Western medicine" or "Western science," as if there were different version that were equally valid. Anyone who has looked at the history of science has immediately discovered that "Western" science was built on a foundation of Islamic, Indian, and Chinese science, and that all these cultures are actively contributing to modern science today.

Nope. There is no "Western" science. Using that term is irreducibly Eurocentric. There is science, a project to which virtually the whole world has contributed and continues to contribute, and there is woo, which contributes little except to the pocketbooks and egos of those peddling it.
