    GOP trades the tax rate hike for the rich in exchange for halting the defense sequester(partially or completely). A plan for tax reform gets fast tracked for next year. The domestic cuts in the sequester largely remain(along with maybe some defense cuts) as a down payment on debt reduction(along with the expiration of the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%).

    I could see something like that happening.

      I'm having a hard time believing that Boehner would or could make that deal. Even if he liked it, could he get the Republicans to vote for it?

      Obama 2012...going to win it with our support!!!

        House GOP would likely want some entitlement cuts if they are going to support a rate increase.

        The only reason I think it could work is defense contractors, and even others might convince enough Republicans to take the deal if the defense sequester is halted.
