    ever need contraception. Yeah, that's what they told my Mom in Catholic Boston in the early 1960s...I thought we'd come a long way since then. Guess not. Meanwhile, for every woman who was denied a diaphragm, women from the depression era said they used a slice of lemon, which is the right size, and acid in the lemon kills sperm on contact. That was common knowledge in the medical books, in fact I read one from the 60 that says 'even with the new "pill" on the market, lemon "remains unsurpassed" as a contraceptive method.' But would a doctor tell you to go home and use what was in the kitchen? Nooooo.
