  •  Hi Trobone, sorry I didn't see your earlier post. (4+ / 0-)

It's fine with me if folks vote yours to the rec list.  I'm going to go over an rec yours ASAP.

CNN has been breaking reports on this almost continuously interviewing everyone they can get for almost an hour now. P.M. Netanyahu's spokespeople say it is not official yet, but that they are close and are now saying they want a 24 hour waiting period of calm, before signing an agreement.

I think this may mean they've agreed in principle, which Egypt is reporting as a deal, while Netanyahu's position is that the verbal agreement isn't a deal until it is formally signed?

The only reason I have so much content so quickly is that I had been working for an hour prior to this on the press conferences by U.N. Secretary Ban Ki Moon in Cairo and Jerusalem, where he strongly encouraged a cease fire, and also, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arriving to broker peace when the CNN reports broke.

I only just put the Reuters announcement in an update.

But, you have all the twitter reports of the direct discussion.

no access to TV, only the reuters live feed and twitter.

i find it amazing that this news it's rec'd immediately, while reports of bombings in gaza or israel almost always are. weird.

We need the live feed and twitter stuff too.  After cnn's debacles in the last year, I'm uneasy about relying on them.  Don't delete yours.

delete yours.  But, I doubt either one of us has to "worry" about the rec list.  Middle East post don't usually make it that far, and if the usual pattern holds, as soon as one of the Front Pagers writes something up on this, these post will be relegated to  historical footnotes.

Thanks for the comments recs, this looks like it is real good news, as dozens of other news sources, and media groups are all reporting the same outline, and much more details (see update.)
