  •  I will definitely keep my fingers crossed (6+ / 0-)

for Cleo. May everything turn out to be easily cured.

Somewhere I have a picture Charles took of Bonehead winning his first major. He looks gorgeous. But what you can really see in his eyes is his constant care for and love of the little ones. When Bitty was a tiny pup, only two weeks old and without her eyes opened yet or the ability to walk, she would creep out of the whelping box so she could be in the middle of the floor with all the big dogs, and Bonehead made it his mission to watch over her and keep her from harm. You can see it in his eyes as he looks at Raven. Great-hearted dogs, the both of them. All three of them.

Why are war casualty counts "American troops" and "others" but never "human beings"?

    •  You've had a difficult couple of years between (6+ / 0-)

your health and losing the furry kids.

I find the innate kindness of animals amazing. When we adopted Annie, a tiny 5 week old tabby kitten, sole survivor of her litter, Torachan and his mate Mike 9Mee-kay, Japanese for "calico" and she's a Japanese Bobtail stray) claimed her as their own. Whoever was closest would grab her and cuddle her and clean her. They'd put her between them to keep her warm and toos their paws over her.  SHe and her litter mates were abandoned at one week old by their mother--but Annie (short for "Anne Bonney" because we were originally adopting her bro  Jack Sparrow who died before we got to take him home, poor dear, only lvied two weeks) got to have two adoring parents anyway. It was so sweet.

I'm Wiccan. I believe the universe is ensouled--and that means animals. The only ones I am not certain about are some people.

The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.
